Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes scattered in Singapore

Fascinating historical tidbit from ygblog4. Considering Gandhi’s role in ending British colonial rule in India, it’s quite surprising that the British allowed the ceremony to take place at all.  On the other hand, considering the fact that this event has been lost from our mainstream history books, maybe the Brits were right to assess that it would not have any impact on the Malay and Chinese political tumult.
